Seun Kuti, the youngest son of the late, legendary Nigerian musician, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, has revived the Movement of the People, founded by his father. Kuti is calling for better governance in the country, as well as an end to police brutality. This comes hours after Kuti said the police threatened to close down the New Afrika Shrine in Lagos, where an event, Mass Meeting #EndSARS Movement, Lessons, and Tasks, was to take place. The original Movement of the People was set up by Fela Kuti in 1979, where he intended to run for the presidency under its banner but was barred from participating.
Seun Kuti reacts to alleged plans by government to shut down Afrika Shrine over his proposed #EndSARS meeting.
