Supporters gather ahead of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak’s funeral in Cairo The former president who passed away aged 91 in a Cairo hospital on Tuesday, weeks after undergoing surgery.

Mubarak was ousted during the 2011 revolution, after ruling the country for three decades. Supporters of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak gathered outside the Field Marshal Tantawi mosque in Cairo on Wednesday ahead of the funeral ceremony for the late leader.

Some mourners can be seen holding banners with photographs of Mubarak and commemoration words, while a large military parade is set to take place in tribute to the former president who passed away aged 91 in a Cairo hospital on Tuesday, weeks after undergoing surgery.

Mubarak was ousted during the 2011 revolution, after ruling the country for three decades. Accused of corruption and complicity in the killing of protesters during demonstrations against his rule, he was acquitted in March 2017.
