Nigeria’s United Nations Ambassador, Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, was selected last September to serve a one-year term as President of the United Nation General Assembly. During his tenure, he has presided over debates on a range of issues, as well as preparations for the 75th anniversary of the world body, which will be celebrated this month. After several months of socially distance sessions, the Assembly convened in-person on September 3 with Muhammad-Bandein the chair.

H.E. Mr. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, presiding as president of the UN General Assembly. His one-year term ended in September 2020.
