Migrants were seen sitting on the ground, guarded by police after being recaptured by Libyan security forces, Tripoli, Friday. The people were recaptured following an escape attempt from Al-Mabani detention centre, with at least six people killed during the recapture, according to media reports citing the International Organisation for Migration. Around 3,000 people are thought to have been held in the facility and the area around it, with the number three times exceeding the area’s capacity. Many people are thought to have escaped during the shooting, the exact reason of which remains unclear.
