Global Pan Africanism Network is glad to host West Papuan Activists to speak about ongoing systematic Human rights violations in West Papua and the indigenous people’s quest for Independence. Irian Jaya/West Papua formerly known as the Island of New Guinea was handed over from the former Colonizer Netherlands to Indonesian Colonial regime after having promised Papuans independence. The Dutch were persuaded to transfer control over Papua to Indonesia in a U.S.-brokered and sham U.N supervised process. On 1st May 1963 without Indigenous people’s consent , West Papua was formally transferred from the Netherlands to Indonesia making it double colonized. Only 1,026 out of 800,000 people were forced to vote under duress by Indonesian Military. Find out more on:
